The 12 Universal Laws

The law of attraction works by way of “energetic frequency”. That means the energy we create by our thoughts, actions, and emotions carrying their own separate frequencies and is so powerful, that the waves of those energy frequencies are attracted to and thus, create more energy. So, the more you add to it the stronger it becomes.

Depression, worry, doubt, anxiety, joy, happiness, peace, and inner balance all carry a different frequency, and yet, the more you stay in whatever state you’re emotionally in, the stronger it becomes, and more returns back to you. Like attracts like!

There are 12 Universal Laws that are thought to be intrinsic, never-changing laws of our universe that ancient cultures have always intuitively known.

Long thought to be linked to Ho'oponopono, with origins in ancient Hawaiian culture, is a meditation for freedom. However, some of the laws are also attributed to hermetic philosophy dating back to ancient Egypt.

Here's an introduction to the 12 Universal Laws, and how to apply them to your everyday life:

1. Law of Divine Oneness

The first and most foundational law of the universe is the Law of Divine Oneness, which highlights the interconnectedness of all things. It says that “beyond our senses, every thought, action, and event is in some way connected to anything and everything else”.

How to apply it:

It means, applying it in real life by being compassionate with others, and recognizing that we are all one.

2. Law of Vibration

At a microscopic level, everything is in constant motion, vibrating at a specific frequency. This applies to matter but also to one's personal frequency as well. This law says that our vibrational frequency can inform our lived experience. If you are able to receive money but are unable to hold onto it, that means you’re vibrating at a lower frequency.

How to apply it:

If you feel the need to increase your frequency, you can do so by incorporating yoga, forest bathing, sound healing (by use of singing bowls, etc), guided meditation, calming music by candlelight, and chakra balancing.

3. Law of Correspondence

"As above, so below. As within, so without." This means while patterns repeat throughout the universe and in our lives, these are mirroring what's happening inside us.

How to apply it:

The idea is that whatever is happening in your life is because it’s happening for you, not to you. If there is chaos and fear on the outside, it's because there is chaos and fear inside you. If there is calm and peace, it’s because you feel calm and peace inside you.

4. Law of Attraction

Is without a doubt the most talked-about universal law and is often used for manifestation. Like attracts like, and you get what you think about the most whether it’s positive or, negative. You also have to believe what you're seeking is possible to obtain. It also falls un the 2nd law, the law of vibration.

How to apply it:

As mentioned previously in this book, when you focus on what you’re thinking about, it becomes your reality. Try starting small, focus on something that is easy to obtain, like an item you want whether it be a piece of clothing, something for your home, etc. Think about that one thing all the time, stay focused, and don’t stray, stay in vibrational alignment. If done correctly, and diligently, there is a 99.9% chance you will receive it by believing it’s already yours.

5. Law of Inspired Action

Closely related to the law of attraction, the law of inspired action is all about taking those things into action. The inspiration comes from within. It’s that gentle nudge you feel to get something done, and by being excited to begin.

How to apply it:

Find time to create stillness by slowing down and creating a quiet space for internal guidance. By doing so, you allow those inner voices/nudges to make way for new thoughts and goals a place to grow, free of control, and open you up to new possibilities. This can take some practice and is why it’s good to meditate. Take action, don’t procrastinate, and once you take that first step the rest of the staircase will become clear.

6. Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy

Everything in the universe is constantly evolving and fluctuating. Every action is followed by a thought. Our thoughts have the power to eventually manifest in our physical reality.

Do you know of someone who has something negative to say? I work with someone who when asked how they’re doing and he/she responds with a negative, “Oh, living the dream!”. Or, “You know, same old stuff, different day!”. Being around people like this depletes our positive vibrational flow.

How to apply it:

We can “douse” those negative energies by staying in a constant state of uplifting positivity and creating a bright light around us so that type of energy does not infiltrate our personal space.

7. Law of Cause and Effect

Also referred to as karma. What you do comes back th

reefold, good or bad.

How to apply it:

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. There is a ripple effect to everything we do and by being in a constant state of knowing, always do good and kind things and those things will come back to you larger than what you put out.

8. Law of Compensation

Closely related to the law of attraction and the law of correspondence. With this law you’re stating your efforts will always come back to you. If you are wanting something, you must put in the effort to achieve it.

How to apply it:

Don’t expect anything in return for the good things you do. Do it all from a place of love and respect, and the Universe will always give it back to you.

9. Law of Relativity

We always compare certain things or situations that are going on around us but, the truth is, everything remains neutral. Relativism is in all things, the meaning comes down to our perspective and perception.

How to apply it:

When applied, this law helps us to understand the tougher parts of our lives with greater understanding. If we're feeling our lives are less than those around us this is being ungrateful because we are comparing our lives with someone else's. Have gratitude for everything in your life and stop comparing your achievements with someone else.

10. Law of Polarity

Everything has an opposite, where there is good - there is evil, love - there is fear, warmth - there is cold. There are always two sides to the same coin.

How to apply it:

By tuning into the opposite of whatever it is you’re going through like an end of a relationship or, a health concern. Tuning into the opposite sheds new light on a perspective that wasn’t clear before.

11. Law of Rhythm

Like with a vibration, there is a rhythmic pattern like the changing of the seasons, the howling of the winds, or, the singing of a bird. This is all-natural, it happens without effort. Just like for each of us, there are cycles we must go through to allow change. Nothing is sustainable without the ebb and flow of rhythm.

How to apply it:

Be aware of what is going on around you. Listen to your inner rhythm and work with that. If you’ve been feeling run down or burned out, take the time for some self-care to allow your inner ebb and flow to re-regulate.

12. Law of Gender

This law has to do with the masculine and feminine energy that exists in all things. Our society has historically operated from a masculine mentality. There needs to be a balance between the two thus, allowing us to be who we really are.

How to apply it:

Once you find your own balance between the divine masculine and divine feminine you will begin to live a more authentic life.
